The turkish stainless steel manufacturer Saritas is building a new integrated stainless steel plant in Yalova. Once fully completed, this multi-phase project is set to significantly boost Turkey’s domestic stainless steel production.
Saritas Stainless Steel, one of Türkiye’s leading stainless steel producers, has awarded Andritz a major order to supply key equipment for its new integrated stainless steel plant in Yalova. Andritz will supply cold rolling mills, an annealing and pickling line, skin-pass mills, and related auxiliary equipment for the first phase of Saritas’s project. The equipment will enable the production of high-quality cold-rolled stainless steel products for applications in industries such as home appliances, automotive, and energy. Start-up is scheduled for early 2028. Once fully completed, the new stainless steel plant will have an annual capacity of 800,000 metric tons. It will help significantly reduce Türkiye’s dependence on imported stainless steel products. Advanced technologies will ensure production in line with international quality standards, strengthening the company’s competitiveness in regional and international markets. The project forms part of Saritas’s long-term growth strategy, which emphasizes resource efficiency and the use of digital process control. Andritz’s technologies, supported by comprehensive automation and digitalization solutions, are designed to ensure stable production processes, high surface quality, and efficient use of energy, the comany says.
