Swiss Steel Group publishes a new white paper entitled "High-strength special steels for high-tech applications." The document highlights the latest developments and innovations in the field of special steels designed for demanding applications in the automotive industry, mechanical engineering and hydraulics.
"Our high-strength special steels offer the perfect solution for modern high-tech applications that place the highest demands on material quality and processability," says Frank Koch, CEO of the Swiss Steel Group. With the new white paper, the company wants to inform customers and partners about the technological advantages and sustainable aspects of the new steels. The white paper offers insights into various areas of application and shows how high-strength special steels can contribute to increasing productivity, reducing CO2 emissions and increasing the service life of components. It emphasises the properties of the high-strength special steels in the ETG and HSX family, which are characterised by their exceptional strength, toughness and outstanding processing properties. The focus is particularly on the steels with the designations ETG 88, ETG 100 and ETG 25, which are characterised by their high initial strength and superior machinability, thus enabling a significant increase in production efficiency. Swiss Steel, winner of the German Sustainability Award 2024, produces long steel on the electric steel route and is able to supply completely stainless steel as green steel - a technologically sophisticated achievement that is unique in the steel industry.
