The goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2050 sees the metal industries begin their greatest transformation in history. The ecoMetals Award honours exemplary companies in three categories:
All companies participating in the ecoMetals Trails at Bright World of Metals 2023 in Düsseldorf are eligible to enter. Each company can apply for a maximum of one category, which will then be voted on by public vote. The election will run until May 31, 2023.

Saving energy in production
Efficient use of materials and resources in production
How green and climate-friendly are the energy-intensive companies in the metallurgy and foundry sectors? How are foundries and companies in the non-ferrous metal and steel industry saving resources in production, what is the role of material cycles for the added value chains? Production that saves energy, material and resources for the purpose of decarbonisation is the focus of the ecoProcess Award.
Climate-compatible use of renewable energies
Optimised energy controlling
At which point in the processing chain do wind and solar energy come into play? Which technologies do companies within the metal industry use to optimise their energy efficiency? The integration of renewable energy into production and a sustainable use of energy within companies is the focus of the ecoEnergy Award.
Use of innovative technologies
How can artificial intelligence and other digital Industry 4.0 technologies help optimise the production process? Which new manufacturing processes complement the traditional production technologies of foundries, non-ferrous metal and steel companies? The use of innovative technologies in the metallurgy and foundry industry is the focus of the ecoTechnology Award.
