wire & Tube 2024

ecoMetals for the international wire, cable and tube industries

With the ecoMetals initiative, Messe Düsseldorf has been supporting the industrial trend towards climate neutrality since 2011. In addition to Bright World of Metals, other world-leading trade fairs such as wire and Tube in Düsseldorf are far more than just innovative product shows. They serve as a key industry platform for making these energy-intensive industries more sustainable.

Exhibiting companies that invest in innovative, sustainable and economically competitive technologies are put in the spotlight on so-called digital "ecoMetals trails". This allows contemporary, ecological developments in the industries to reach international decision-makers and experts in a targeted manner.

This spring, the industry can look forward to Düsseldorf when the world's leading trade fairs for the wire, cable and pipe industry kick off from 15 to 19 April 2024 and, with the ecoMetals campaign, present current developments in terms of a climate-neutral future as part of an extensive supporting programme.

The focus on sustainability and energy efficiency will be even stronger than at the previous event in 2022. ecoMetals digital trails will also lead visitors through the halls to new, environmentally friendly production methods used by exhibitors at this industry get-together.

Technical innovations along the entire value chain invite you to a high-calibre exchange of experts. Whether on current trend topics such as hydrogen as an energy source, green jobs or exciting presentations on the future of the pipe industry, separation technology, plastic pipes & co.

It’s clear that emissions must be reduced, but where to start? In Germany, the proportion of industrial greenhouse gas emissions made up 22 percent of the total CO2 equivalent value of 907 million tonnes in 2019. The steel industry was responsible for 28 percent of this proportion (total CO2 equivalent value of 200 million tonnes). In order to reduce emissions, the steel production process must be transformed. The result is CO2-reduced “green” steel.

The sneaker, originally a pure sports shoe, has experienced an astonishing rise since the 1980s. Influenced by basketball and hip-hop culture, they first made their way onto the streets, into mainstream and mass culture and finally onto the catwalks of major luxury labels.

The exhibition will take place at the NRW-Forum from 17 February 17 to 26 May 2024.
