BG-CNC: Surface grinding

The CNC-controlled flat bevel grinding machines of the series BG-CNC are equipped with a horizontal grinding table of up to five axes. They are designed for grinding knives, scissors, hand tools or related parts. The machines can be delivered with different grinding wheel diameters depending on the size of the pieces which have to be machined.

As a standard CNC control of LTE, Siemens and Bosch are employed. The control is programmable in NC block or menu-driven.

Different series are available depending on the requirements:

BG/NT2-CNC: Surface grinding of complex contours
BG/DA/NT2-CNC: Grinding of machine knives
BG/RV/NT2-CNC: Grinding of extremely curved workpieces
BG/V/NT2-CNC: Grinding of knife blades with inclined bolsters
BG/ZA/NT2-CNC: Economic grinding of workpieces
BG/ZA/VSS/NT2-CNC: Grinding of mechanical knives
BG/RH/NT2-CNC: Radii grinding
Each series is equipped with:

digital Windows control
measuring control with measurement sensor, digital control of grinding wheel wear, determination of remaining service life
grinding table in 30° inclined-bed construction, roller rail system with direct position sensor
workpiece-dependent programming software
AC servomotor
automatic interval-controlled lubrication with control and fault display
designed for the reception of clamping devices
TeamViewer for diagnosis/remote control of CNC and SPS functions
grinding length 150–640 mm (depending on the model)
grinding control 6.5–45 kW (depending on the model)
reception of grinding wheel 80–710 mm ∅ (depending on the model)

DG/NT-CNC: Space-saving surface grinding

CNC grinding machine with three or four axes and vertical grinding spindle for the surface grinding of knives, scissors, hand tools, and related parts

30% less required space in comparison to the horizontal arrangement of the grinding spindle
good stability thanks to a solid welded construction of the machine housing
prevention of vibrations during processing due to a machine housing filled up with mineral cast
user-friendly, Windows-based controls with interfaces for robotics, PLC, measuring technology and other applications
“Esprit” CAM interfaces
wear-free main axis drive with linear motor, achieving rapid traverse speeds of 80 m/min (262 ft./min)
precision, backlash-free positioning, using direct measuring system
compact, precision gearbox with high rigidity to control cutting edge angle
as a single or a double machine available due to two separate machine housings

About us

Company details

Since 1957 Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik has been building grinding and polishing machines. The product range is completed by machines for complementary production processes such as glazing, deburring or sharpening.

The machines are especially required when CNC or robotic technology has to be introduced as BERGER is one of the leading companies in this field. More than 100 different types of CNC grinding machines are part of the product range.

In the last decade Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik has acquired five more companies with complementary products. Six brands are consolidated in a company group – the Berger Gruppe – under the operational management of Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik. In this way the group is able to offer complete innovative solutions for different requirements – all from one source.
