ISO-EXO EXO 23 - EXO 25B SLEEVES
The name EXO 23 indicates the usage of ceramic fibers.
The name EXO 25 indicates instead the usage of biosoluble ceramic/mineral fibers.
Both fibers characterize the product, giving it as prerogative a good insulating power, together with a strong exothermic reaction due to the use of metallic aluminum. Prime quality raw materials, like those used for insulating products, and the vacuum production process give to the product an apparent density of about 0,5/0,7g/ cm3, and a good mechanical resistance. Thanks to its exothermic characteristic, this kind of sleeve is appropriate for a material with short intervals of solidification: various steel alloys, spheroidal graphite cast iron, etc. The use of this kind of sleeve enables a marked reduction of the riser volumes, compared to those in sand and in insulating material. The maximum capacity of the volume settling is 40/50%.
The codification with letter B means the usage of a different charge material, basic or neutral, that allows to the product to be more suitable for all types of cast iron, especially for the ones with manganese.

HISTORY OF OUR COMPANY
The origin of Faprosid plant date back to 1965 thanks to the knowledge of its founder Mr. Piantoni Danilo and to his experience among the steel plants of the region.
The company is located in Brescia, city 90 km far from Milan, in an important district of the iron and steel production of the northern Italy.
It was born on an area of 1000 square meter, in a small workshop producing hot tops for steel plants. Its type of quality products turn out to be very appreciated from Italian Customers, so much to allows the company to carve out in a short time a significant share of the Italian market of steel plants which produces ingots, forcing Mr. Piantoni to move to a new industrial hub, doubling his production area.
Thanks to the knowledge acquired through the production of the hot tops, in 1992 Faprosid enters the field of foundries producing successfully sleeves suitable for the production of castings for cast iron and steel.
